OEC Is Evolving: New Videos Bring Core Skills to Life

This year’s Cycle C Refresher marks a new chapter for Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) education. NSP is investing in high-quality video to strengthen the learning experience, reinforce foundational skills, and deepen the connection to what makes OEC such a vital part of our mission.

New Video Training for Core Skills

Developed in collaboration with OEC subject matter experts, this year’s online modules include a dynamic lineup of videos that focus on essential skill areas for field readiness, including:

  • Patient assessment

  • Splinting techniques

  • Airway emergencies

  • Backboarding and injury management

These aren’t just refresher clips—they’re a long-term investment in how we teach, train, and retain critical knowledge.

Whether you're returning for another season or stepping into a new leadership role, these videos are designed to help you sharpen your skills and deliver the best care possible on the mountain.

Why OEC Matters—In Their Words

Beyond skills, OEC is about service, connection, and history. As part of this year’s update, we’ve also created a special video featuring voices from across the NSP education community. In it, OEC instructors and subject matter experts reflect on what OEC has meant in their lives, why it remains so essential, and how it continues to evolve with the times.

It’s a powerful reminder that behind every lesson, every rescue, and every patrol shift is a commitment to saving lives—and to doing the work it takes to be ready.

Take the new Cycle C Refresher modules in the Center for Learning today—and see how NSP is building the future of OEC, one video at a time.
